CAT and  IIM interview journey

IIM, the most prestigious school in India, is a journey of hard work and having a perfect strategy for the exam.

I am Rishi Kumar Gupta and I have received calls from all the IIMs except IIM CALCUTTA, IIM INDORE AND IIM KOZHIKODE till the 11th of April I have given all my IIM interviews.

My journey started right after my class 12th though I was not studying wholeheartedly I was focused to go to an IIM and for the first two and a half years my preparation was a joke, I was solving less yet boasting a lot about my preparation and during the second week of May I gave my first mock and I couldn't even score 50 marks and I realised I have a long way to go thanks to the guidance of TCM Education and Ajai Sir when I was bolstered in overconfidence they taught me to be humble towards my preparation.

And that was the time my preparation moved on the right path and yes if you start in April or May you still have enough time for your preparation.

I also think I got the best guidance in the city from TCM Education because even though I thought I was very good at maths (because I took PCM in class 12th) at TCM my eyes were open. After all, CAT maths is way easier and nothing like class 12th so I didn't have any horizon over my peers who had dropped maths in 11th standard the only edge I had, was of practice and I think at the end of my program every peer of mine was talking equal amount of time as I was.

I also thought my English was the best but cat English is nothing like we have ever done before it was passages and questions and often time to find a link between them you had to read a single passage over and over again. But that is the section of strategy and with help of the excellence of Shubhang sir and Sajal Sir I got better in that section and my highest score this year was in the VARC section.

Lastly, the most important thing I think my coaching helped me with was understanding the pressure of the exam we were told to give as many mock and mock analyses as possible and that helped us a lot. Because CAT is not an exam of knowledge but the pressure and you can wrong even the easiest of questions if the pressure gets to you, so take as many mocks as possible and when AJAI sir calls you for the analysis you go. CAT Clones and their analysis are the biggest reason for my percentile. So if you are preparing for CAT TCM is definitely the place where you can achieve you goal of going to an IIM.

Lastly, interview..... We will talk about it in our next post.
