The full form of ‘SSC CHSL’’ exam is ‘Staff Selection Commission Combined High School Level (10+ 2)’ exam. SSC conducts a common SSC CHSL Exam every year to recruit for various posts like:-

- Data Entry Operators
- Lower Divisional Clerks
- Court Clerk
SSC CHSL Exam
This year, SSC has reduced the time limit for Tier I examination from 75 minutes to 60 minutes. After getting recruited in SSC CHSL, you will be getting a handsome salary including other allowances. The final pay band of SSC CHSL officer including HRA, DA, etc. may be Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200). This will increase along with your career path at the bank.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern & Selection Process
The examination will consist of three Tiers of exams:
- Computer-based Written Examination (Tier -I)
- Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and
- Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier-III) Examination for the post of Data Entry Operator, Postal Assistant & Sorting Assistant (PA/SA), Lower Division Clerk and Court Clerk

Apart from the Prelims, the Tier II will be a descriptive paper 100 Marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode The duration of the paper would be for one hour (20minutes extra will be provided for candidates with VH/OH afflicted by Cerebral Palsy, OH with a deformity in writing hand). This paper has been introduced to assess your writing skills. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200 -250 words and Letter/Application writing of approximately 150-200 words.
- The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 percent.
- The performance in Tier II would be included in preparing merit.
- You have to write the paper either in Hindi or in English. The part paper written in Hindi and Part of English will not be evaluated.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria
Overall, there are 3 criteria on which the eligibility of a candidate is judged for SSC CHSL. You need to qualify these eligibility standards to apply for this exam. These 3 criteria are broadly classified into the following categories:
1) SSC Age Limit for CHSL Exam( As on 1st August 2018)
Minimum Age - 18years
Maximum Age - 27 years

2) SSC Age Relaxation for CHSL Exam ( As on 1st August 2018)
The Age Relaxation for IBPS PO Exam will be applicable as per Govt. norms. The IBPS PO Age Relaxation for different categories are as follows:
- SC/ST - 5 years
- OBC (Non - Creamy Layer) - 3 years
- PWD - 10 years
- Pwd + OBC - 13 years
- PWD + SC/ST - 15 years
3) SSC CHSL Educational Qualification (As on 1st August 2018)
The minimum qualification required to apply for SSC CHSL Recruitment is an Intermediate Degree.
How to Apply for SSC CHSL?
Note that you can apply for SSC CHSL Exam through Online mode only. Therefore, make sure not to delay the application process any further! To apply for SSC CHSL Exam, follow the below-mentioned steps:
- You can register through SSC official website and click on the ‘Home Page’.
- You have to pay the Application fee online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/Cash Cards/Wallets, etc.
- Use a valid email ID that should be kept active till the declaration of results.
- You should keep a scanned photograph and signature ready as per requirements mentioned in the official notification.
- Submit the Application Form.
- Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.
